Philosopy
Broomall Rehabilitation
and Nursing Center is committed to delivering quality pulmonary
care and rehabilitative services to patients of all ages with complex
but stable medical and nursing needs. The technological
capabilities and professional support offered ensure the provision of
quality care, and a cost-effective continuation of pulmonary services
initiated in the acute care setting.
Broomall Rehabilitation
and Nursing Center’s Pulmonary Services support the goal of maximizing
the resident’s level of independence and autonomy. The resident’s
participation in the decision-making process concerning healthcare
treatment and goals promotes an enhanced quality of life, regardless of
condition or prognosis.
Treatment Categories
Pulmonary patients receive post-acute recovery care at all levels, in a
variety of treatment categories. We do not provide ventilator
care but do provide care to residents who have recently been weaned
from ventilator dependency.

Pulmonary patients may receive the following:
- Respiratory therapy and intervention including
blood gases, oximeter monitoring, suctioning, turning and posturing and
nebulizer treatment
- Specialized equipment and devices to promote independence
- Monitoring and assessment of medical and neurological status
- Nutritional therapy
- Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology
- IV therapy
- Symptom management
- Clinical monitoring
- Rehabilitation
- Psycho-social support
- Discharge planning
- Hospice or comfort care as requested
