Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is committed to delivering quality
wound and ostomy care to residents with a variety of comprehensive
medical needs. the loss of skin integrity can severely affect the
physiological, psychological, social well being of the individual
suffering from acute or chronic debilitation. Pressure ulcers and
delayed wound healing are concerns in residents already compromised by
an acute or chronic illness, accident, or injury.
Broomall Rehabilitation and Nursing Center's wound management services
combine continuous, high-quality nursing care with progressive
treatment modalities and psychosocial support, providing a holistic
approach to meeting the special needs of residents with these
conditions.
Treatment Categories
Wound management services may encompass the following treatment categories:
- Post surgical wounds
- Wound infection and associated IV therapy (including MRSA and VRE)
- Stage III and IV pressure ulcers
- Complex stage II pressure ulcers
- Amputation site
- Postoperative skin flaps
- Other chronic wounds
- Wound vac therapy
Services
Wound management may encompass the following services:
- Nutritional analysis and intervention by staff-registered dietician.
- Intensive diabetic stabilization and management
- Physical/occupational/speech therapies
- Antibiotic therapy
- Superficial debridement, and hydrotherapy
- Chemical debridement
- Mechanical debridement
- Consultation by a Certified Enterostomal Therapy Nurse (CETN)
- Aggressive skin deficit assessment and intervention
- Aggressive therapeutic dressing management
- Specialty mattresses and pressure relieving devices
